Golden Days

We weren't that far gone, from where the campfire crackled along. Adrift in indigo afterglow, where fading patterns wove the tree line. The falling stars won't refrain, in summer promises we made. Your face lit softly by the moon, Venus waining early June. In the shadow of that winter, we hoped against hope for golden days before they end. Waking silently in June, our hearts eclipse the moon.

Stars Alone

I watched the sunrises reflection in your eyes. A brief but welcoming escape. The moon cycles left me tongue tied from leaving too much to fate. A bitter winter blocked the sunrise and froze the earth beneath our feet. The fog that paralleled our life lines cast shadows of doubt before me. So will you run with me until the stars come crashing down all around us? Drown with me in the sunshine until the satellites collide and the stars alone surround us.

Pulses Slow

Let it rise slowly. Sing the songs of those who have gone voices low, fingers cold. Let them dance forever in the room behind your heart, pulses slow, feet below.

Lost Forever

We always mean to. We always mean to say more in that moment. When the voices of the golden dawn didn't know what to say. We tried but have since long forgotten. Let's get lost forever.

Western Shores

We set out for the sunset. The western shores unknown. We hung a right at the cypress trees to find the moon at dusk alone. Our tired bones yearned for summertime blues. The twilight birds began to sing. Westward foam swirled for sun kissed hearts. The day vanished into the sea.

Nebulous Song

Head first into the icy fog. Thoughts like birds, just out of reach. We're scattered just the same, placing roots that never hold. How long will we run until we reach the stars? Glass castles reduced to sand. Hands tremble in the autumn air.
