New Horizons

It's a long way down here, for the shadows on your walls. Collecting dust between the sun rays, I felt the shiver in your voice. We can go where the child kings and hungry ghosts won't eat your heart. Where there's no obligation to the setting of the sun. Now I search for new horizons, to watch dim.

Only Mine

The past thousand miles will never give back. These are the longest days. The bloodshot eyes behind dark lenses, this hole is mine. Only mine. Years slow to a glacial pace, crawling toward dates in memoriam. Loss is the game you play when you've lived too long.

New Old Thing

I won't insist, but I don't mind, blurring the lines on borrowed time. I'll fool myself, to believe in belonging. Only for a short time, to suspend the comfort of disbelieving that everyday ends up the same way. Let's hope it's only in my dreams. Repeat. Begin again. Lost in the hues of intimate views, since gone in the latitudes.

In Time

We'll honor our fathers and walk in the sunshine where everything is washed away in time. The swirling Pacific receding the shore all is forgiven in time. The weight of our memories spread out across the sand. Sun bleached and washed away in time.

Old Ghost

Will you be my voice when I tire of the burden of sunshine?
Will you be my hands when they crack and bleed? Will you forsake me like I have? Old ghost, will you take me? Are you tired like I am?

Summer Shoes

You be the summer breeze, I'll be the anchor. The weight you carried in the sun. The lives we left behind. Sit up. You wished away the somber sunsets between us. You be the warm embrace, I'll be the echoes of a guiding voice from the past. The biting wind across your face.

I borrowed your bones so I'd never have to feel alone. I explored the lengths of 'Where I End'. A static hum to fill the time in between the constant electricity weighing on me. A moments distraction from my feet to meet your eyes, swirling in the undertow. We'll hang around the sun drenched dreary town and my heart will sink in the depths of the echoes. I heard your voice on the radio and nothing compared. You had me locked in my living room. I heard your voice on the radio and nothing compared, like whispers adrift in your gentle brilliance.

Stay
03:38

There's no way out of this, but that's ok we're in it together. And I can't say I'd leave it up to you, when you say please stay. The love that you feel inside, is all that matters at the end of the day. It's the cycle we participate in, each day when we wake to fill our roles as bleeding machines, but that's not to say that things can't change.

The Great Unraveling
05:33
|
|

Another thread severed in the great unraveling. We laid in the sunshine, benign, it was perfect. You found me in the right place, at the right time, for once. It was garden hose rainbows, it was everything to me. The memories faded so I wrote them down. You soaked them all in, but they're just words, until later. A golden hours secrets folded into the seams. In the shallowest graves, you hid your deepest regrets. The words haven't changed, but they don't mean the same things anymore.
